Description Nurofen Cold Ibuprofen & Pseudoephedrine 20 film-coated tablets
Nurofen Cold tablets are indicated for the treatment of colds in adults and adolescents over the age of 15. The common cold is characterized by a feeling of a blocked nose or a runny nose, which may be accompanied by a headache or fever.
Nurofen Cold contains ibuprofen (200mg) which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that will relieve fever and pain. This medicine also includes pseudoephedrine (30 mg) which is a vasoconstrictor that causes the action of the drug on the nasal discharge.
Composition Nurofen Cold 1 film-coated tablet
Ibuprofen 200 mg.
Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 mg.
Other components:
Microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, povidone, calcium phosphate, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, talc, mastercote yellow.
Dosage and administration Nurofen Cold Ibuprofen & Pseudoephedrine 20 film-coated tablets
1 tablet per dose, to be repeated if necessary after 6 hours, without exceeding 4 tablets per day. In case of more intense symptoms, take 2 tablets per dose, not exceeding 4 tablets per day.
Space the catches of at least 6 hours.
Pharmaceutical form :
Film-coated tablet to be swallowed with a large glass of water, preferably with meals.
Contraindications Nurofen Cold
- Children under 15 years old,
- pregnancy,
- if you are breastfeeding,
- history of allergy or asthma triggered by this or related medication, including other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin
- history of allergy to other components of the tablet,
- an evolving stomach or duodenal ulcer,
- severe liver disease,
- severe kidney disease,
- severe or poorly controlled high blood pressure,
- if you have had a stroke,
- severe heart disease (coronary artery disease)
some forms of glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye)
- difficulty in urinating due to prostatic or other causes,
- old or recent convulsions
- systemic lupus erythematosus,
- if you are being treated with :
* vasoconstrictor drugs such as bromocriptine, pergolide, lisuride, cabergoline, ergotamine, dihydroergotamine, or with other drugs intended to decongest the nose whether administered orally or nasally,
* non-selective MAOIs (iproniazid), which are prescribed for certain depressive states.
* medicines based on ephedrine, phenylpropanolamine, phenylephrine or methylphenidate.
