Forlib® is a medical device for the symptomatic treatment of occasional constipation in adults and children aged 8 years and over. Forlib® is used to : Relieve constipation and soften hard stools and allow for easier evacuation.
Forlib® contains macrogol 4000, an osmotic laxative also known as polyethylene glycol (PEG). Macrogol 4000 retains water in the feces. It softens hard stools and increases their volume. This leads to faster bowel movements and easier evacuation, providing a natural feeling of relief. Macrogol 4000 is not absorbed by the body and is excreted unchanged.

The content can be drunk directly from the sachet or with a glass of water. Each sachet must be taken immediately after opening.
It is recommended to take Forlib® in one dose in the morning.
The recommended dose of Forlib® is :
- In adults: 1 to 2 sachets per day.
- In children from 8 years old: Start with 1 sachet every other day. 2 sachets per day maximum. In children from 8 to 12 years old, it is recommended to ask a doctor for advice.
Forlib® usually takes effect in 24 to 48 hours. The daily dose can be adapted to the effect obtained.
The maximum duration of treatment should not exceed 15 days.
Precautions for use :
Forlib® can be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Forlib® does not contain sugar and is suitable for diabetics.
Forlib® does not contain sodium and is suitable for patients on a low-sodium diet.
However, Forlib® should not be used in the following cases:
Allergy (hypersensitivity) to macrogol 4000 (polyethylene glycol or PEG) or any of the other components.
Severe bowel disease such as
Inflammation of the intestine (such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease) or abnormal dilation of the intestine (toxic megacolon)
Perforation of the bowel or risk of perforation of the bowel (hole in the bowel wall)
Bowel obstruction or suspected bowel obstruction (ileus or suspected bowel obstruction or symptoms of bowel obstruction)
Abdominal pain of undetermined cause
Forlib® oral solution should be discontinued and a physician should be contacted if any of the following symptoms occur
Allergic manifestations such as skin rash or swelling of the face, tongue or throat (angioedema), hives.
Unconsciousness, collapse or difficulty breathing and general malaise.
Increased vigilance is recommended for patients: elderly, with impaired renal or hepatic function, taking diuretics (drugs that increase urinary elimination), as they may have decreased blood sodium (salt) or potassium levels.
In case of diarrhea, Forlib® stick should be discontinued. It is advisable to hydrate and contact a doctor or pharmacist. As with all laxatives, an organic disorder should be ruled out before taking Forlib®.
Forlib® should not be used daily over an extended period of time without determining the cause of the constipation. A physician should be consulted in case of persistent abdominal pain.
Composition
Each 18.7 ml sachet contains 10 g of macrogol 4000.
Other components: Raspberry* flavour, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, anhydrous citric acid, potassium sorbate, sucralose, water.
* Composition of the raspberry flavour : 93,7 % of propylene glycol (E1520), 0,1 % of acetic acid (E260), aromatic agents.
