When is this medicine indicated?
This medicine is a laxative administered rectally. It triggers a contraction of the rectum which allows the evacuation of stools.
It is used in the treatment of constipation, especially when stools accumulate in the rectum and repeated bouts do not allow them to be evacuated. It is also used to prepare the rectum before an endoscopic examination (rectoscopy).
Dosage
How to use this medicine Rectopanbiline 10 Suppositories adult
The laxative effect occurs within 5 to 30 minutes after the suppository is introduced into the rectum.
Usual dosage:
Adult: 1 suppository per day.

When it should not be used
This medication should not be used in children under 12 years old, unless medical advice is given.
Caution
Rectal laxatives should not be used for long periods of time without medical advice: they may prevent the normal stool expulsion reflex.
Precautions are necessary for people with hemorrhoids, anal fissures or ulcerative colitis.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
This medication may be used on an occasional basis to treat constipation in pregnant or nursing women.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Prolonged use may cause anal burning and exceptionally inflammation of the rectum.
