Fortacin is a drug indicated for the treatment of premature ejaculation in men.
Fortacin premature ejaculation spray 5 ml is a spray to be applied to the tip of the penis at least 5 minutes before intercourse, to anesthetize the area.
Around 25% of men suffer from premature ejaculation. Premature ejaculation is a male sexual disorder characterized by rapid ejaculation, often before or shortly after penetration, and before the man wants to. It can lead to sexual dissatisfaction for both partners, sometimes affecting the couple's relationship. The causes can be multiple: stress, anxiety, heightened sensitivity or biological factors. Several types of treatment are available, including behavioral therapies, relaxation techniques and medication. It is essential to consult a healthcare professional for a precise diagnosis and personalized follow-up, in order to improve the quality of sexual life and general well-being.
Fortacin is reserved for adults (over 18). It is one of the medicines that can be dispensed in pharmacies, without a prescription.
Fortacin: to treat premature ejaculation
Fortacin is a spray in the form of a cutaneous spray solution. It contains lidocaine (150 mg/mL) and prilocaine (50 mg/mL), two active substances which act as local anesthetics. These block the transmission of nerve impulses in the glans penis.
When the dose of Fortacin is sprayed, a controlled, concentrated film is applied to the glans penis, reducing its sensitivity. Ejaculation is then delayed, enabling sexual intercourse to last longer, without having the slightest adverse effect on the sensations experienced.
The treatment takes effect in just 5 minutes. Fortacin's effectiveness has been shown to persist over time after repeated use.
How to use Fortacin premature ejaculation spray 5 ml
Apply 3 sprays (1 dose) to the tip of the penis. Spray at least 5 minutes before intercourse.
A maximum of 3 doses can be used in 24 hours, i.e. 9 sprays in 24 hours. A minimum of 4 hours must elapse between 2 doses.
First shake the bottle, then prime the pump by spraying once into the air. The foreskin must be completely free. The bottle should be held vertically, valve upwards. Apply 1 dose to the entire tip of the penis. Each spray will cover 1/3 of the surface.
After waiting 5 minutes, wipe off any excess before intercourse. This is important if a condom is used.
If too much medication has been used, wipe it off.
What are the contraindications to Fortacin?
Fortacin is for men only and should not be used in women. If you think you might be pregnant, or if you wish to conceive a child, your partner should avoid using this drug, unless sufficiently effective male contraception is available to avoid contact with the product. In addition, Fortacin has been shown to reduce sperm motility in rats. If you are breast-feeding, the lidocaine and prilocaine contained in Fortacin are not present in sufficient quantities to present a risk to the newborn or infant.
If you are already taking drugs similar to lidocaine and prilocaine (local anaesthetics), such as class I anti-arrhythmics, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using Fortacin, because of the risk of additional systemic toxicity. Similarly, if you have ever been sensitive to local anesthetics, Fortacin is contraindicated.
In case of contact with the eye, rinse immediately with water or sodium chloride solution. Avoid contact with the nose, mouth or ears, especially an injured eardrum.
Do not use Fortacin with polyurethane condoms. Nitrile, silicone, polysioprene or latex condoms are preferable. Similarly, do not use Fortacin with polyurethane-based latex-free female condoms.
If you suffer from a disease affecting red blood cells or liver dysfunction, ask your doctor for advice before using Fortacin.
Naturally, do not exceed the recommended dose (9 sprays in 24 hours). Overdosing with prilocaine or lidocaine can lead to increased methaemoglobin levels, nervous system excitation and even cardiovascular depression.
