Bad vaginal odour accompanied by abnormal vaginal discharge can be a symptom of bacterial vaginosis. This little-known vaginal infection is just as common as vaginal mycosis (1). Don't panic, HydralinBalance® provides you with the solution to get rid of these intimate discomforts!
Bacterial vaginosis can be favoured by certain factors, such as: douching, smoking, taking antibiotics, regular use of a soap that is not suitable for intimate hygiene, stress, sexual intercourse, intra-uterine devices or prolonged periods.
Here are some tips to prevent the onset of bacterial vaginosis:
- Douching is not recommended,
- Limit the use of deodorants or potentially irritating intimate fragrances,
- During your period, remember to change your tampons very regularly (every 4 hours or so, and never more than 8 hours),
- When using the toilet, remember to wipe from the front to the back and not the other way round to avoid microbial contamination.
How to use HydralinBalance® ?
HYDRALINBALANCE® gel comes in a box of 7 single-use applicator tubes.
Directions for use:
- Use 1 tube per day for 7 days.
- Wash your hands carefully
- To open the tube, turn the end of the applicator tube on itself, do not pull (1).
- Sit or lie down in a comfortable position and gently insert the applicator into the vagina, as far as is comfortable (2).
- Gently press the applicator to release its contents (3)
- Remove the applicator by continuing to squeeze it and discard it.
It is best to use HydralinBalance® at night before going to bed. You may wear a panty liner as residual product may be left behind. However, this is normal and in no way means that the treatment for bacterial vaginosis has not been effective.
HydralinBalance® can be used during pregnancy and during menstruation. However, it is important to consult your doctor if you think you may have a vaginal infection during your pregnancy. It is recommended that you do not have sexual intercourse during the treatment period.
The use of HydralinBalance® should be avoided if you are in the process of conceiving, as it has a low pH, which can make the environment less favourable for spermatozoa. Do not use HydralinBalance® as a contraceptive.
If your symptoms are not relieved despite the correct use of HydralinBalance® as described in the leaflet, seek prompt advice from your doctor.
