This medicine is an antiviral agent.
It is used in the manifestations of certain herpes infections, as prescribed by a doctor.
2. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE USING ACICLOVIR SANDOZ 5% cream
Never use ACICLOVIR SANDOZ 5% cream:
ifyou are allergic to aciclovir or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine, mentioned in section 6.
When applied to the eye, mouth or vagina.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Long-term administration in recurrent herpes in pregnant women is not recommended, especially at the end of pregnancy, nor during breastfeeding.

3. HOW TO USE ACICLOVIR SANDOZ 5% cream

Dosage
In all cases, follow your doctor's prescription.
The dosage is usually 5 applications per day.
Treatment should be started as soon as possible, at the first signs of infection.
If you feel that the effect of ACICLOVIR SANDOZ 5% cream is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Method of administration/Frequency of administration
Apply to the skin.
It is recommended that the cream be applied liberally around the lesions.
Applications should be spread out over the day.
For example :
In the morning after breakfast,
At noon after lunch,
Around 4-5 pm,
In the evening after dinner,
In the evening before bedtime.
Duration of treatment
The duration of treatment is between 5 and 10 days.
If you have used more ACICLOVIR SANDOZ 5% cream than you should have
Consult your doctor or pharmacist.
If you forget to use ACICLOVIR SANDOZ 5% cream
Do not take a double dose to make up for the one you forgot to take

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, but they do not always occur in everyone.
Transient tingling or burning sensations may follow application,
Erythema (redness) or dryness of the skin,
A risk of eczema (allergic skin reactions), due to the presence of propylene glycol.

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
No special storage precautions
Do not dispose of any medicine in the sewer or in the household waste. Ask your pharmacist to dispose of any medication you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.
