This medicine is a fluidifier of bronchial secretions, thus facilitating their evacuation by coughing.
Therapeutic indications
This medicine is indicated in adults in case of recent respiratory disease with difficulty in spitting (difficulty in rejecting bronchial secretions by spitting).

This medicine must always be accompanied by voluntary efforts to cough, allowing expectoration.
Do not take cough suppressants or bronchial secretion drying drugs while taking carbocistein.

Precautions for use
The use of this medication is not recommended in patients with fructose intolerance (rare hereditary disease).
This medicine may cause mild digestive disorders (diarrhea).
Caloric value 2.3 kcal/g of maltitol.
This medicine contains sodium. This medicine contains 130 mg of sodium per cup (15 ml). To be taken into account in patients controlling their dietary sodium intake.
This medication contains an azo coloring agent (E124 Cochineal Red) and may cause allergic reactions.
This medicine contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and may cause allergic reactions.

Method of administration
Oral route.
RESERVED FOR ADULTS
This speciality is suitable for patients on a hypoglucidic or hypocaloric diet.
Use the cup provided to measure the quantity of syrup for one intake (15 ml graduation).
Rinse the cup well after each use.
Close the bottle tightly after use.
1 graduation on the 15 ml cup corresponds to 750 mg of carbocistein.
Dosage
The recommended daily dosage is:
750 mg of carbocistein 3 times a day, i.e. one 15 ml graduation from the well 3 times a day.
If you feel that the effect of this medication is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Duration of treatment
The duration of treatment should be short.
Do not exceed 5 days of treatment without medical advice.

Description of side effects
Like all medicines, CARBOCISTEINE MYLAN 5% ADULT SUGAR-FREE, drinkable solution sweetened with liquid maltitol and sorbitol is likely to have undesirable effects, although not everyone is subject to them.
- Possibility of digestive intolerance (stomach ache, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea). It is then advised to reduce the dose.
- Possible allergic skin reactions such as itching, rash, facial swelling
