For one capsule: 100 mg Rakecadotril
The other components are: Lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized corn starch, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica.
Composition of the capsule shell: gelatin, titanium dioxide (E171), yellow iron oxide (E172).
Dosage of Tiorfast 100 mg capsule
The dosage is 1 capsule to be taken at once, then one capsule three times a day, before the three main meals.
These capsules are taken orally.
The treatment must be stopped when the stools become consistent again or if no stool is emitted for more than 12 hours.
Do not exceed 3 days of treatment.
Contraindications
In case of allergy (hypersensitivity) to the active substance or to one of the other components contained in this medicine or in case of taking an ACE inhibitor with a history of angioedema under ACE inhibitors.
Dietary measures should be taken with this antidiarrheal to compensate for fluid and mineral losses. Rehydration with abundant salted or sweetened beverages is recommended, as well as the exclusion of foods such as raw vegetables, fruits, green vegetables, spicy dishes, and iced foods or beverages, with a preference for grilled meats and rice.
If you have blood or pseudomembranes ("bits of skin") in your stool, a fever, dehydration, prolonged or uncontrolled vomiting or diarrhea for more than 3 days, contact your doctor.
Moreover, in case of diarrhea during or after an antibiotic treatment or if you suffer from a renal or hepatic disease, you must warn your doctor.
In case of pregnancy and breast feeding, it is not recommended to use Tiorfast 100 mg.
