The other components of its formula are macrogol 400, macrogol 4000, macrogol 6000 and purified water

DOSAGE OF BETADINE 10% GEL

The gel can be administered as a simple local application, or as a dressing

Be sure to use it strictly according to the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist, or those of the leaflet

CONTRAINDICATIONS OF BETADINE 10% GEL

This medicine in gel form should not be used from the 2nd trimester of pregnancy as well as in case of breast-feeding within the framework of a repeated use

It should not be administered to newborns under 1 month of age.

Finally, Betadine 10% gel should not be used if you are allergic to any of its constituents, particularly povidone. There are no cross-reactions with iodinated contrast products

Intolerance to iodinated contrast media or anaphylaxis to seafood is not a contraindication to the use of this drug

With repeated use or on certain fragile skins, the iodine in Betadine 10% gel can penetrate the skin. For this reason, it is best to avoid prolonged or repeated use

During regular applications on damaged skin in subjects with renal insufficiency, especially in burn victims, special attention is required

The use of Betadine 10% gel in children between 1 and 30 months is not recommended. If it is necessary, it is important to apply it briefly and sparingly

Wash with sterile water after application

It is necessary to be particularly careful with fragile skin, children and pregnant women

You must tell your doctor if you are taking, or have recently taken, any other medication, including medication obtained without a prescription

You must not combine Betadine 10% gel with products containing mercury: formation of very irritating derivatives

It is also recommended to avoid the simultaneous or successive use of different antiseptics, especially mercury-derived antiseptics

There is a risk of modifying the results of thyroid examinations

The use of Betadine 10% gel, in the context of repeated use, is contraindicated during the last 6 months of pregnancy because of the presence of iodine in its formula. It should only be used on the advice of your doctor, and on an occasional basis

Breastfeeding is also contraindicated in case of repeated use

In general, you should always seek the advice of your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
