Description:

The composition is povidone-iodine 5 g/100 ml and 96% ethanol 72 ml per 100 ml

The other components are: Glycerol 85%, macrogol lauric ether (9), purified water for an alcoholic strength of 69.2%(V/V)

HOW TO USE ALCOHOLIC BETADINE 5% ?

For the antisepsis of healthy skin before surgery or before certain invasive procedures such as punctures and injections

Using a compress, apply about 5 ml of the product to the surface of the skin for at least 10 seconds, and with wait for it to dry about 30 seconds.

For surgical antisepsis, this drug is used to prepare the surgical field

First of all, skin detersion with a foaming skin application solution based on povidone-iodine is started, which is rinsed with 10 ml of saline, then dried with a sterile compress and the skin is disinfected in two successive one-minute applications of alcoholic Betadine 5% separated by a spontaneous air-drying time of one minute.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Betadine 5% alcohol in a bottle is contraindicated for babies under one month of age, and medical advice is required for babies under 30 months of age

This medicine is contraindicated in case of allergy to povidone

An allergy to iodinated contrast media, or to seafood, does not constitute a contraindication to the use of Betadine

This medicine should not be used in burn victims

Caution, this product is intended for use by health professionals, the drying of the product is important especially before using an electrical instrument because of the risk of burns, prolonged contact with the undried solution can cause irritation and rarely severe skin reactions such as burns. Do not apply regularly to injured skin in patients with renal insufficiency

The iodine contained in this drug may pass through the skin, particularly with repeated use or on certain fragile or weakened skin, and into the general circulation, possibly affecting thyroid test results.

At the same time, the simultaneous use of different antiseptics or mercury should be avoided

In case of pregnancy or breastfeeding, this medication is not recommended because of the presence of iodine
