Indications:

The drug Fixical Vitamin D3 500 mg / 400 IU, composed of calcium and vitamin D, is indicated in the elderly in case of calcium and vitamin D deficiency and in association with osteoporosis treatments when the intake of calcium and vitamin D is insufficient.

Fixical Vitamin D3 500 mg / 400 IU is reserved for adults and children over 15 years.

Description:

For one sucking tablet, there is 500 mg of calcium as calcium carbonate and 400 IU of cholecalciferol (vitamin D3), as cholecalciferol, powdered form.

Other components are: Xylitol, povidone excipient K30, aspartam (E951), levomenthol, mint flavour (contains sorbitol), talc, magnesium stearate, lactose monohydrate.

DOSAGE OF FIXICAL VITAMIN D3

The recommended dose is 2 tablets per day, i.e. 1 tablet morning and evening.

For adult use only.

Contraindications


Never take FIXICAL VITAMIN D3 500 mg/400 IU, chewable or suckable tablet in the following cases:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to vitamin D or to any of the other components contained in this medicine, mentioned in section 6,
- if you have an abnormally high amount of calcium in the blood (hypercalcaemia),
- if you have an exaggerated elimination of calcium through the urine (hypercalciuria),
- if you have kidney stones (calcium lithiasis),
- if you have phenylketonuria (a hereditary disease detected at birth), due to the presence of aspartam.

Precautions for use


Ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking FIXICAL VITAMIN D3 500 mg/400 IU, chewable or suckable tablet.
Excessive calcium intake may be dangerous.
This medicine contains sorbitol and sucrose. It is not recommended for use in patients with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase/isomaltase deficiency (rare hereditary diseases).
Use this medicine WITH CAUTION:
- during prolonged treatment, it is necessary to have the amount of calcium eliminated in the urine (calciuria) checked regularly. Depending on the results, your doctor may have to reduce or even stop your treatment,
- in the event of additional administration of calcium and vitamin D in high doses, which must be done under strict medical supervision.
- you must wait at least 2 hours between taking FIXICAL VITAMIN D3 500 mg/400 IU, chewable or suckable tablet and one of the following medicines
- bisphosphonates (against osteoporosis),
- antibiotics of the cyclin family,
- iron salts (oral),
- estramustine (used during chemotherapy),
- thyroid hormones,
- strontium (against osteoporosis),
- zinc.
- in case of sarcoidosis or renal insufficiency.
