Description:
Eductyl works by triggering the defecation reflex by increasing the volume of the rectal bulb. This medication is used in some cases of terminal constipation and as a preparation for rectal examinations (rectoscopy).
Composition:
Active ingredients: potassium acid tartrate 1.150 g and sodium bicarbonate 0.700 g
Excipients: Soya lecithin, talc, solid hemisynthetic glycerides
Dosage
This medication is for adults only. One Eductyl suppository per day should be used occasionally, a few minutes before the time of the bowel movement.
Prolonged use may cause anal irritation or inflammation of the rectum.
The treatment of constipation, especially if it is chronic, also involves hygienic and dietary measures such as moving around more (sport, walking), drinking more water, and increasing fibre intake (green vegetables, cooked fruit, wholegrain cereals, etc.).
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE :
These suppositories against constipation will not be used in case of allergy to peanut or soy or to any of the constituents present in the formula.
This medication should be avoided in cases of anal fissure and/or undetermined abdominal pain.
Eductyl suppositories may occasionally be used during pregnancy or lactation.
Store at a temperature below 30°C.
