Description:
DUPHALAC DOSAGE:
The dosage should be adapted to each subject according to the results obtained during constipation.
Adults should take 1 to 3 sachets per day as an initial treatment and 1 to 2 sachets per day as a maintenance treatment
Children from 7 to 14 years of age should take 1 sachet per day as an initial treatment
The treatment should not last more than 8 days without medical advice, therefore during occasional constipation
If diarrhoea occurs, you are advised to reduce the dosage
In the case of hepatic encephalopathy, the average dosage is 1 to 2 sachets 3 times a day, knowing that the ideal dose is the one that leads to two soft stools per day.
The sachets can be taken pure or diluted in a drink
The duration of treatment varies according to the symptoms, talk to your doctor
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE OF DUPHALAC :
Duphalac is contraindicated in case of allergy to lactulose or to one of its components, during certain diseases of the intestine and colon, such as rectocolitis, Crohn's disease, intestinal obstruction or in case of abdominal pain, in case of digestive perforation or suspicion of perforation, or in case of intolerance to galactose.
In case of constipation, you are advised to increase your dietary intake of vegetable products (green vegetables, raw vegetables, wholemeal bread, fruit, etc.), to increase your consumption of water and fruit juice, to practise physical activities (sport, walking, etc.), to re-educate the defecation reflex, and sometimes to add bran to the diet.
Caution: this medicine should be used with caution in cases of liver or kidney disease and in patients treated with diuretics.
