Description Toplexil Dry and Irritative Cough Syrup sugar-free 150 ml
Toplexil Dry and Irritative Cough is indicated for the treatment of non-productive coughs, particularly at night. It is used in adults and children over 2 years of age.
Toplexil dry cough syrup contains oxomemazine, an antihistamine with antitussive and sedative properties. It is suitable for the treatment of dry, irritating (non-greasy) coughs, particularly those occurring at night. Other constituents of this syrup are: sodium benzoate, citric acid monohydrate, glycerol, sodium citrate, caramel compound flavor, caramel, sucrose solution and purified water.

Toplexil syrup comes in a measuring cup. The dosage is as follows:

Toplexil syrup for children : For children weighing between 12 and 20 kg with a dry cough, give 1 5-ml measuring cup 2 or 3 times a day; for children weighing between 20 and 30 kg, give 1 10-ml measuring cup 2 or 3 times a day; for children weighing between 30 and 40 kg, give 1 10-ml measuring cup 3 or 4 times a day.
Toplexil to relieve dry coughs in adults: Take 1 x 10 ml measuring cup of syrup up to 4 times a day. Toplexil should be taken only once, and for a short time (only as long as the cough lasts).
Toplexil is an over-the-counter medication indicated for dry coughs. If the cough becomes oily or productive, the syrup should be discontinued. If symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical advice.
Precautions for use: Because of the drowsiness and sedation induced by Toplexil, it should be used with great care: do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking Toplexil; do not combine with other sedative drugs, particularly antihistamines, as they may increase side effects. Do not use Toplexil in cases of fructose intolerance or galactose and glucose malabsorption. Do not drink alcohol with Toplexil. In case of diabetes, prefer Toplexil without sugar. Toplexil should not be used during pregnancy or while breast-feeding, unless medically indicated. Tell your pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines.
Excipients : sodium benzoate, glycerol, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, caramel compound flavor (caramel, fenugreek resinoid, methylcyclopentenolone hydrate, maltol, butyric acid, piperonal, diacetyl, ethylvanillin, vanillin, propylene glycol, distilled water), caramel (E150), liquid sucrose, purified water.
