BIOLOGY OF THE CANNABIS URINE SELF-TEST
Cannabis is hallucinogenic and alters your sensory perception, motor coordination and memory. Any kind of action requiring concentration is a risk, as is driving. Studies have shown that drivers who have consumed cannabis in the last 3 hours have a higher risk of accident. The MEDISUR THC urine test detects cannabis in just 5 minutes. This allows you to check yourself before driving, or to adapt your consumption behavior. When a person has smoked, all the chemicals will be eliminated in the urine. This is what the test will detect. The THC urine test is suitable for both occasional and regular smokers. Occasional smokers are detected after 2 to 5 days. The latter can extend over several weeks (up to 10 weeks). Detecting cannabis use over weeks is the main advantage of urine testing.
EPIDEMIOLOGY
In 2014, 17 million people reported having used cannabis in their lifetime, 4.6 million in the course of the year, 1.4 million at least 10 times in the course of the month, and 700,000 on a daily basis.
PRINCIPLE OF THE MEDISUR URINARY CANNABIS SELF-TEST
The urinary cannabis self-test detects cannabis as early as 30 minutes after consumption, and over a period of 2 to 7 days for occasional use, or even longer for regular users. The test is based on specific antibodies to THC and its derivatives. The test is capable of detecting a concentration of 50µg/L in urine, above which the result is positive.
PURPOSE OF THE URINARY CANNABIS SELF-TEST
The purpose of this test is to detect cannabis use between 30 minutes and 7 days ago. It is not intended as a means of avoiding police checks. Cannabis consumption, unlike alcohol, is prohibited in France, so the Gendarmerie's tests detect "the slightest trace". The driver is liable to severe criminal penalties.
WHO TO RECOMMEND MEDISUR® URINARY CANNABIS SELF-TEST TO
The patient wants to know if he or she is detectable for cannabis, for a military or police examination, for example. Patients who want to know if a relative or their children use cannabis.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Do not swallow the test.
Read instructions carefully before testing.
Store between 2°C and 30°C. Do not freeze.
Do not use after expiration date or if pouch is damaged.
Keep out of reach of children.
After use, discard all components.
The test can be performed at any time of day. Caution: for regular users, it is advisable to wait at least 24 hours after the last consumption before driving, and for the Gendarmerie salivary test to be negative.

Do not open desiccant
RESULT INTERPRETATION
Result after 5 minutes:
POSITIVE
The test is positive when a band appears next to C (Control) and not next to T (Test). This means that the urine contains cannabis at a level higher than the legal threshold. You must not perform any actions requiring attention or concentration, such as driving.
NEGATIVE
The test is negative when a band appears next to C (Control) and also next to T (Test). This implies that the urine contains no cannabis, or at least below the legal threshold (50ng/l). The intensity of the T band may be lighter than C. This will not affect the result.
INVALID
The test is invalid when there is no strip next to C (Control). This often occurs when the patient does not fully follow the instructions. Read the instructions and do another test.
