BIOLOGY OF THE SALIVARY CANNABIS SELF-TEST
∆9-THC is the main psychoactive component of cannabis. After consumption, it is found in this form in saliva. Cannabis use can lead to central nervous system disorders, impairing sensory perception, coordination and memory. Consumers also describe other symptoms such as paranoia, anxiety, depression, confusion, hallucinations and increased heart rate. These various effets have a negative influence on the ability to drive a vehicle.
EPIDEMIOLOGY OF SALIVARY CANNABIS SELF-TESTING
In 2014, 17 million people reported having used cannabis in their lifetime, 4.6 million in the course of the year, 1.4 million at least 10 times in the course of the month and 700,000 on a daily basis.
PRINCIPLE OF THE SALIVARY CANNABIS SELF-TEST
The MEDISUR salivary cannabis self-test detects cannabis use over a short period of a few hours (on average up to 6-8 hours for occasional users), depending on the dose consumed.
OBJECTIVE OF THE SALIVARY CANNABIS SELF-TEST
The aim of this test is to detect recent cannabis use, a window when the user is still under the effet of the drug. It makes it possible to become aware, after cannabis use, of the presence of THC in the body.
It is a tool for self-assessment of one's post-consumption physical state. It's a test that can be used by users and those around them to encourage dialogue and help them take charge of their lives.
Cannabis consumption, unlike alcohol, is prohibited in France, so the Gendarmerie's tests detect "the slightest trace". The driver is liable to severe criminal penalties.
WHO TO RECOMMEND THE SALIVA CANNABIS SELF-TEST TO
Consumers who wish to test themselves afin order to become aware of the persistence of THC in saliva over time, and therefore of the risks involved in driving or working in high-risk jobs.
To those around you afin order to assess the reality of your cannabis use and initiate a preventive dialogue.

NEGATIVE
VISIBLE THC BAND
The test is negative for cannabis when a band appears next to the C (control) marker and a band also appears at the THC marker. The intensity of the lines varies. Even a very faint THC line indicates a negative result.
INVALID
C BAND NOT VISIBLE
The test is invalid when the control band (marker C) does not appear. This most often occurs when the patient does not follow the instructions in the package leaflet. Read the instructions and repeat the test.
