Directions for use:
For a professional application of Leukotape K, observe the following rules and basic principles. These are the only ways to ensure that the elastic bandage is held in place properly. It is therefore recommended that Leukotape K be applied by a doctor or physiotherapist.
1. Preparation of the skin :
The skin must be dry, free of grease and free of irritation (e.g. after intensive sun exposure). If there is a lot of hair, the hair must be shaved or cut short.
2. Application:
After application, you can no longer correct the length of the tape with scissors. Therefore, you must cut the tape to the desired length before applying it. Round off the ends or corners of the adhesive strips (better adhesion and longer wear) and apply them without tension. This will prevent the tension-free corners from peeling off too quickly and the tape ends from curling up.
When applying the tape, follow the anatomical structure. As soon as the tape is applied to the skin, no further corrections are possible. In wet areas (hands/feet) a special fixation at the ends or an adhesive spray on the relevant tissue structures can guarantee optimal adhesion.
Tip: Run your hand flat over the applied tape several times to ensure a strong and optimal adhesion.
3. Checking:
In general, we recommend checking after two or three days that the tape is still firmly in place.
4. Skin-friendly removal:
In total, a tape should not remain in place for more than five to seven days. The tape can be removed more easily with water (e.g. in the shower). Tighten the skin firmly and pull in the direction of the hair.
Precautions for use:
- Comply with the prescription and recommendations of your doctor
- Always seek the advice of a pharmacist or medical equipment professional.
