Sanofi Doliprane 200 mg 10 Suppositories is indicated for the treatment of pain and/or fever, e.g. headaches, flu, toothache, aches and pains.
This presentation is reserved for children weighing 12 to 16 kg (approx. 2 to 5 years).
For children of different weights, there are other paracetamol presentations with more suitable dosages.
Directions for use Sanofi Doliprane 200 mg 10 Suppositories
Dosage
Paracetamol dosage depends on the child's weight. Ages are given for information only.
If you don't know your child's weight, weigh him/her to determine the most appropriate dose.
Paracetamol is available in a wide range of dosages, enabling treatment to be adapted to each child's weight.
The recommended daily dose of paracetamol is around 60 mg/kg/day, divided into 4 administrations, i.e. around 15 mg/kg every 6 hours.
- For children weighing 12 to 16 kg (approx. 2 to 5 years): the usual dose is 1 suppository, repeated if necessary after 6 hours, but not exceeding 4 suppositories a day.
Method and route of administration
Rectal administration.
Duration of treatment
Unless medically indicated, the duration of treatment is limited to :
- 5 days in case of pain,
- 3 days in case of fever.
Warnings and precautions
Be careful with DOLIPRANE 200 mg, suppository
- If pain persists for more than 5 days, or fever for more than 3 days, or in the event of insufficient efficacy or any other sign, do not continue treatment without consulting your doctor.
- Taking paracetamol can lead to disturbances in liver function.
- You should seek your doctor's advice before giving this medicine to your child:
- if your child has liver or kidney disease,
- if they suffer from dehydration,
- if your child suffers from chronic malnutrition, is fasting, has recently lost a lot of weight, has AIDS or chronic viral hepatitis, has cystic fibrosis (a hereditary genetic disease characterized by severe respiratory infections) or Gilbert's disease (a hereditary disease associated with increased bilirubin levels in the blood),
- if your child is allergic to aspirin and/or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Please note: consumption of alcoholic beverages during treatment is not recommended. In the case of recent withdrawal from chronic alcoholism, the risk of liver damage is increased
- When administered to children, the dose depends on their weight.
- In the event of acute viral hepatitis, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.
